About Me and HOW-TO-PLAY-ELECTRIC-GUITAR.NET

Hi!
I am Electric-Fire, the owner of how-to-play-electric-guitar.net

I'm a guitar player and also a web developer.

Site Admin

I'm not a professional player or trainer. Playing electric guitar is one of my hobbies, and I've been doing this for more than 10 years. During this time, I've tried a variety of playing techniques, methods, and tricks.

So I created this website as one of the practice projects early in my web development career to exercise my coding and writing skills, while sharing some useful knowledge related to electric guitar.

The idea was to make simple step-by-step lessons that get straight to the point and enable you to play cool things as soon as possible, cutting out a lot of theoretical stuff and emphasizing practical knowledge more.

Another good reason for working on this website is to improve my English by writing all the articles myself. Please be patient with any grammar mistakes! ;)

If you'd like to send me feedback, a suggestion, or report a mistake, please follow this link.

If you have any questions about how to play or how to do this or that, use this link to ask your question.

My Services

I'm available for hire as a freelance web developer.

Assistance with transferring websites from proprietary online publishing platforms like Wix to a commodity web hosting service running any content management system of your choice (for example, WordPress or Joomla). This way, you'll have complete control over your website and be able to back it up locally.

This very website was initially located on SiteSell's Site Build It (SBI) platform, and I migrated it some years ago.

I recommend hosting.com (formerly known as a2hosting.com) for more demanding use cases, as it provides greater availability and comes with many convenient features that make life easier: automatic online daily backups of files and databases, the ability to compress and download directories from the web-based file manager, editing files through a secure SSH connection, working with PostgreSQL databases, and many more.

For more basic websites, I recommend Hostinger as a more budget-friendly option.

I would also like to note that I use free as in freedom software for the purposes described above. You can learn more about the meaning of free software here.
